In memorial to Ron Hernlund, a visionary in our industry, the Northern California Chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath Association has established this scholarship. Ron Hernlund, president of McPhails Appliance, learned the business from the bottom up, having started as a truck driver. He set a new standard for the industry with the opening of state-of-the-art “Super Showrooms”. Ron’s vision for business and the industry is a great legacy complimented by his reputation for integrity, caring, and selflessness in all aspects of his business dealings. He was able to see the best in people and inspired them to rise far above their own expectations. To that end, this scholarship is to continue Ron’s legacy by helping others to achieve: to the best of their ability in this industry.
