In memorial to Ron Hernlund, a visionary in our industry, the Northern California Chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath Association has established this Scholarship. Ron Hernlund, president of McPhails Appliance (now known as Standards of Excellence), learned the business from the bottom up, having started as a truck driver. He set a new standard for the industry with the opening of state-of-the-art “Super Showrooms”. Ron’s vision for business and the industry is a great legacy complemented by his reputation for integrity, caring, and selflessness in all aspects of his business dealings. He was able to see the best in people and inspired them to rise far above their own expectations. To that end, this scholarship is to continue Ron’s legacy by helping others to achieve: to the best of their ability in this industry.

The Scholarship is open to all NKBA Accredited/Supported Program Students.

The next scholarship will be awarded at the NKBA Northern California Chapter Meeting on April 19th. Applications are due by Monday, March 12th at 5pm.
